Planning the Adventure
There are multiple components to planning this entire endeavor:
- Picking which car model to buy Done
- Finding the car Started
- Buying the car
- Preparing the car for the journey
- Planning the route and stops
- Getting from Clearwater to Chicago
- The actual road trip from Chicago to Santa Monica
- Getting back home
Behind the Scenes (Literally)
On top of the above, there’s quite an endeavor to document and share the entire journey:
- Creating a website with all of the content Initial content mostly done
- Creating blogs and video blogs (vlogs) for all of (most of?) the steps along the way Underway – 2 each (more to come!)
- Publishing progress on social media
- Learning how to use social media beyond Facebook and LinkedIn (Oh grog!)
- Filming actual events like the car arriving at the shop, working on the car, etc.
- Editing footage into worthwhile social media content
- Learning editing software In Progress
- Shooting the actual trip itself
- Set locations, such as the start, the finish, attractions along the way
- In-car footage
- Drive-by footage of the car
- Long distance footage of the car in motion
- Compiling and editing all of the above into something resembling a decent movie
And of course, filming along the way means a cameraman or camera crew, plus a camera vehicle. There’s a ton of planning behind the scenes to document this whole adventure. This behind-the-scenes work may very be its own story. Suffice to say that it’s all part of presenting 66ina66.com. It’s part of my adventure in presenting to you the main adventure – Driving Route 66 in a ’66 Mustang when I’m 66.
